Alicia Lee, Writings and Publications

Artist Statement

My voice is that of a pragmatist, awed by life. Having spent decades studying and working with wine in the hospitality industry, my eye is trained to focus on the deep layers of details that often go overlooked. Moving between the Pacific Northwest and the Upper Midwest—balancing the environments of big-city fine dining and rural roots—shaped a perspective that bridges the elegant with the everyday. Now settled in River Falls, Wisconsin, my work is grounded in these Midwest sensibilities, finding poetry in the unvarnished realities of place, history, and survival.
